Eric SodenManaging Partner
Eric Soden is a business intelligence professional with more than 12 years in sales, technical presales, business analysis, enterprise reporting/analytics, data warehousing and project management. He has served as a director of consulting services, Cognos solutions architect, Business Objects partner, trainer and customer. His proven abilities in selling and implementing technical solutions in the private and public sectors help show management teams the value of business intelligence in solving real-world problems.
Before starting Capitalize Analytics, Eric led a division for an IBM partner. While there he directed the strategy and vision for his department including creating vendor partnerships to add value to both parties’ offerings. He also led many business intelligence projects that included ETL, Data Warehousing, and IBM Cognos.
Prior to becoming an IBM partner, Eric worked at IBM for over five years as an account executive and solutions architect for IBM Cognos products, acting as a technical resource for clients evaluating the Cognos solution. He directed the sales team in demos, proofs-of-concepts and RFP responses. He later became an outside sales account executive with responsibility for a 12-state territory from pipeline creation to close.
Eric has four IBM Cognos certifications and won numerous Cognos-specific awards throughout his career. Before moving to Cognos, Eric was a certified Business Object consultant.
Brian A. Zahn is an energy and midstream expert with more than 18 years of professional experience. He focuses on business process redesign, management consulting initiatives, and technical software implementations. He provides hands-on experience in the life-cycle of software selection, process design and analysis, implementations and project management. He has strong expertise in gas plant and facility accounting, tax, regulatory reporting, imbalance management, division order maintenance, disbursements and gas contracts. His deep experience in the midstream business comes from multiple implementations of software and process redefinition across the energy value chain for a wide variety of Fortune 500 energy companies.
Zahn was previously a member of Quorum Business Solutions’ senior leadership team, where he was responsible for the Midstream Energy Practice. Prior to working at Quorum, he worked for Accenture’s Energy Solutions Group. Zahn earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and management sciences from Northwestern University.
Angie WendorfDirector of Training and Events
Angie Wendorf is the Director of Training & Events at Capitalize. With over 10 years of experience in Project Management and Meeting Planning, Angie is a seasoned business project and events professional. She is responsible for the planning and logistics for all training classes and special events held by Capitalize, and works closely with the Directors of Sales and Marketing to execute both internal and external projects.
Angie began her career at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health, where she worked in Student Academic Development to produce educational events for medical students in their first through fourth years.
Following her tenure at the Medical School, Angie moved to Dallas and into Continuing Medical Education, producing live events offering education to healthcare professionals. She’s since been the lead on events ranging from education conferences to promotional events, and even user group meetings and training classes for clients in the software industry. She’s been responsible for the overall management of live events ranging from intimate dinner meetings to international multi-day events with attendance in excess of 600 people.
Angie has a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in Art History.
Lauren PoggenseeOffice Manager
Lauren Poggensee is the Office Manager for Capitalize, bringing 20 years of experience in office management and accounting. She joined Capitalize in 2013 and played a vital role in our expansion process and currently oversees all internal accounting, administrative, and human resource activities. She brings significant experience as an Office Manager, having managed offices in several service, retail, and wholesale industries. Lauren also manages all IBM Sales Programs and Incentives, and the IBM and VAD partnerships including all leads, opportunities, quotes, and sales orders.
Before joining Capitalize, Lauren worked at a mid-size manufacturing firm as the accounting manager. There, she managed all of the accounting for both businesses, including the month close, as well as set up the wholesale department as an addition to an existing online retail wedding accessory store.
Lauren earned a bachelor’s degree in public accounting from Mesa University in Colorado.
